After 6 years of writing these announcements every week, I realize that sometimes real world events provide a veritable buffet of rhetorical options at my dsposal to intruduce a flavors (or flavors) for my loyal cookie monsters. This week is most certainly one of those. Our blended family looks forward for celebrating Diwali each year and not just for the Indian sweets (for which our 4 year told daughter has found a particular fondness; watch your ladoo carefully around her); the chance to connect with cousins and extended family; but also on the more dramatic end celebrate the conquest of good over evil and light over dark. The fact that it ASLO happened to be election week in what can easily be argued one of the most consequential midterm elections in my life time is just too delicious to ignore. draw your own parallels. But in the spirit of cleebrating blended cultures and the privilege of exercising free choice; I offer both MASALA CHAI CHOCOALATE CHIP COOKIES (all the best parts of a classic chocolate chip cookie with a touch of Bollywood Drama (warming spices of ginger=, cinnamon, cardamom, cloves, black pepper & nutmeg. And as an entirely adequate alternative (isn’t that nice?) my Classic Chocolate Chip cookie with Sea Salt, an essential staple of freezers in the finest homes in the greater DC region!
